Janice has been my hairdresser over a long period of time. However, she is more than a hairdresser. Everyone who comes in contact with Janice can agree with me in saying that she is not only the best hairdresser ever, but she has a heart bigger than herself. She is a caring person, always reaching out to help others and finding time to listen even during her busiest schedules. I always leave her salon with a smile. God bless you, Janice

“I have witnessed first hand the impact the Just J has in the Brampton community. Janice and her team has been a great partner with the Peel District School Board providing life changing opportunities for students in the SAL (Supervised Alternative Learning) program, coop program and a refuge for young females who are seeking to turn their lives around. Whether it’s mentoring, training or providing much needed resources for young women the Just J foundation’s work is transformational. The Just J foundation was one of the first organizations to respond to the needs of Jamaican people after Hurricane Melissa. To date over 20 barrels of school supplies, books, food and clothing has been sent to people affected by the hurricane. Even after all the lights and cameras have gone the Just J foundation is still continuing to meet the needs of the students and is still collecting the aforementioned items.”

Kathy is a wife, mother, and dedicated volunteer. She is a coordinator for a community youth steel band, a children's storyteller of Jamaican folktales, a member of the Congress of Black Women Brampton Chapter, and a member of the United Achievers' Club, and was previously chair of the Caribbean pavilion for Carabram, Brampton's multicultural festival. Kathy holds a Bachelor of Science from McGill University, and a post-graduate diploma in the Theory of Teaching Practices from the University of Guelph.

As Culinary Management student at George Brown, I’ve known Janice for nearly half my life, and she has inspired me to pursue business ownership and community leadership. Her strength has motivated me to organize fundraisers in Brampton, and I aspire to own a successful Black-owned business and make a mark in the culinary world.

Aunty Janice is one of the hardest working business owners I know. Each time I visit her salon I’m met with a positive business environment. Aunty Janice has helped me so much in life, and I am forever grateful to her.
